Randstad is seeking a talented Scientist to support research in gene and protein delivery with plants systems. This inclued nanoparticle formulation, gene encapsulation, and studies on cellular uptake and translocation within various plant systems.

This is a onsite position, located in St. Louis, MO. Local candidates preferred as relocation cost reimbursement is not available.

Responsibilities

• Leverage in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in nanotechnology to drive research initiatives.
• Synthesize, engineer, and formulate nanomaterials for various applications.
• Deploy multiple nanoparticle engineering and formulations approaches to enable cellular uptake of nanoparticles.
• Design and perform laboratory studies based on clear hypotheses.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of scientists to manage data and develop, implement, and document workflows.
• Independently prioritize, evaluate, implement, and troubleshoot approaches and tasks to achieve desired outcomes.

Must Haves:

• PhD or MS in Biophysical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Drug Delivery, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline.
• 2-4 years' hands-on experience in biomolecule delivery with demonstrated publication records
• Innovative mindset with hands-on experience in research involving cellular uptake and delivery of biomolecules.
• Proven ability to document research project results through oral presentations and/or peer-reviewed scientific publications.
• Experience with nanotechnology in plant systems
• Knowledge in plant biology, metabolism and physiology
• Experience with microbial based protein expression and purification.
