Position Overview:
The Juvenile Justice Intervention Center (JJIC), operated by the City of New Orleans, is a secure detention facility for youth awaiting court proceedings or placement. JJIC provides trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate medical and behavioral health care to residents, many of whom present with complex needs. We are seeking dedicated healthcare and behavioral health professionals to join our on-site team, delivering high-quality care 24/7 in compliance with state, federal, and juvenile justice standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master of Social Work
• Licensure: Active Louisiana LCSW
• Experience: Juvenile justice or youth behavioral health (required)
• Technical Skills:
  • Trauma therapy modalities
  • Discharge planning systems
• Soft Skills: Crisis intervention, family systems engagement, judicial collaboration

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy.
• Participate in case staffing and classification decisions.
• Assist with discharge planning and connect youth to community resources.
• Prepare court summaries as requested.
