Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Farm Equipment Operator to join our agricultural team. This role involves operating a variety of farm machinery and heavy equipment to support planting, harvesting, animal care, and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in farming operations, mechanical repair, and animal husbandry, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Operate farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety.
  
• Perform equipment maintenance, repairs, welding, and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal functioning of all machinery.
  
• Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, handling, and caring for livestock including horses and other farm animals.
  
• Supervise farm personnel as needed, providing guidance on equipment operation and safety procedures.
  
• Manage irrigation systems and greenhouse operations to promote healthy crop growth.
  
• Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, installations, and general farm maintenance.
  
• Handle heavy lifting tasks related to feed, supplies, or equipment movement across the farm.
  
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all operational activities.
  
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, repairs, and animal care activities.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in farming operations or agriculture-related roles; supervising experience is a plus.
  
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform equipment repair and welding tasks.
  
• Familiarity with farm machinery, heavy equipment operation, irrigation systems, and horticulture practices.
  
• Experience in animal husbandry, animal handling, and animal care including equine experience preferred.
  
• Ability to operate forklifts and other specialized power tools safely.
  
• Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations related to farming activities.
  
• Knowledge of greenhouse management and growing techniques is advantageous.
  
• Physical ability for heavy lifting, long periods of standing or walking across large farm areas.
  
• Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues; familiarity with hand tools essential.
  
• Valid driver’s license required; experience with heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare while maintaining safety standards across all operations.
