Job Title: Embedded Software EngineerJob Description As an Embedded Software Engineer in the U.S. office, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software for avionics systems and satellite platforms. You will collaborate with the team to develop, integrate, and test portable software modules for on-board data handling and advanced processing, with a focus on code reusability for future missions. Responsibilities + Design and develop software for avionics systems. + Work throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements definition to testing and result reporting. + Configure and tailor Real-time Operating Systems on on-board computers. + Participate in the integration and testing of flight software on avionics systems and satellites. + Identify and support a core set of tools for performance analysis. + Design and develop tools such as scripts, simulators, and digital twins to ensure high-quality flight software. + Cooperate with other engineering teams to define system architecture and integrate software with specific hardware components and constraints. + Support the path-to-production for developed software solutions. + Maintain software solutions deployed to orbit throughout the satellite lifecycle, supporting flight operations. Essential Skills + Proficiency in software design and development with C and C++. + Good familiarity with real-time operating systems and software design techniques in multi-threading applications. + Knowledge of GIT or other software versioning applications. + At least 3 years of experience in embedded software development or relevant roles. + Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. + U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the space or defense industries is a plus. + Experience with CI/CD tools such as BitBucket, Jenkins, and SonarQube. + Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, and Bash. + Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and SpaceWire. + Understanding of software and hardware development lifecycle, system design, and agile methodologies. Work Environment This position requires onsite work in the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melbourne, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.
