SUMMARY
The Director of Advancement Services leads and oversees all Institutional Advancement (IA) systems of record, technology and data strategy, including the effective deployment to tools and business processes to achieve fundraising and engagement goals. The Director of Advancement Services is responsible for leading a team of professionals with specific expertise in gift processing, donor database management, prospect pipeline research and moves management benchmarking, technology integration, data reporting, and gift acceptance policies and procedures.
This role is integral in developing and maintaining overall constituent (donor/member) data strategy alongside the Senior Manager of IT and the Membership and Marketing Departments in an effort to identify, cultivate, grow, and steward the Exploratorium’s pipeline of prospective donors, and its base of support for annual and major gifts, principal and campaign gifts, planned giving and volunteer engagement. The Director also analyzes revenue data to guide each departmental team of their revenue progress and projections to craft effective data-driven strategies.
This position oversees the Development Services team: the Development Services Manager, Development Assistant, and Development Specialists of Prospect Management and Research for the campaign, major giving, and events. This position reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and works closely with other Directors in IA and other departments within the museum.
