Caterer (Part Time) Location Lake Charles, LA :
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
- Caterer serves meals to LCMH system in a sanitary, efficient, and timely manner and provides additional services as needed along the prescribed lines of action dictated by Catering Lead and Executive Chef.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Monitors and assists in meal production, procurement and delivery.
- Completes product to meet standard.
- Prepares meals according to Catering calendar.
- Prepares, monitors, and provides food by following menu.
- Oversee the daily functions of the assigned shift.
- Perform other duties and tasks as needed and assigned.
- Encourages and support employees and ensures completion of delegated tasks.
- Is knowledgeable of and assists with implementation of policies and procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines as regards to tasks.
- Actively participates in unit/hospital cost saving and productivity initiatives.
- Use resources efficiently.
- Wash, sanitize, and dry areas to meet catering standards.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
- Two (2) years of management experience.
- One (1) year of healthcare food service experience working knowledge of special diet modifications.
- Basic computer skills in excel and word.
- Supervises all employees in the specified area of responsibility.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and recall documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, staff and public groups as required.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion.
- Ability to remain calm in situations of discord and to reach compromise between diverse positions.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work involves a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing and walking.
- Bending stooping and lifting are minimal.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and utilize a PC.
- Must have normal hearing or utilize adaptive hearing devices.
- May require off-site travel.
